What settings are required to set up email service in my Email Software or Smart Device?

When setting up a an email addresses in your email software e.g. MS Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird or Smart Device such as an iPhone or iPad etc. the settings below are required. Links to the user guides are also provided below to assist you in setting up and configuring mail accounts in your mail software.  If you require phone support to configure your email in your mail software then we may be able to assist. cPanel Customers


cPanel hosting control panel customers use the email server settings below. Please note SMTP Server ports 26 & 587 are faster for sending mail because the spam filter uses port 25.

N.B. Replace yourdomain.ie below with the domain name of your email address.

Email Address: [email protected] (the full email address)

Username: [email protected] (the full email address)

Password: password set for the mailbox in hosting control panel

SMTP Server: mail.yourdomain.ie (Port 25, 26 or 587)

POP3 Server: mail.yourdomain.ie (Port 110)

IMAP Server: mail.yourdomain.ie (Port 143)

SMTP Authentication: needs to be enabled, set to 'Password' authentication.

SSL: needs to be disabled
